I have been doing something down here, I’ve just been quiet about it. When I’m writing songs I inevitably need solitude and the freedom to yell my lyrics. I’ve finally gotten some of both since getting hitched 3 beeauuutiful years ago.

I have a handful of songs. A couple still need the plumbing and electrical, but they’re coming. My brother Joe is the hare, I’m the turtle, in more than one way.

Speaking of which, my bro is loading his album right now, and he’s almost ready to pull the trigger. He had me mount some artwork for the cover last week. Final touches and we’re off to the races. I’ll drop another bomb when I have the plutonium.

Exploratory Recording

I recorded my two songs very lo-fi out near a river in the wind, and then sent them to my friend Joel Schuman in Seattle to add whatever instruments he wanted. They pretty low quality, but take a listen. I like some things going on in them.

Electrohome just played a show at YouTube–er, I’m kidding. I’ve been busy writing new songs this summer, and put a couple on YouTube yesterday. As the titles say at the end, these will eventually go in a new release. My current song list is:

Arizona and I Shouldn’t Take You Back are on YouTube. I realized that I always look sad when I sing. For Arizona, I was even thinking “look happy,” but it didn’t work.

Electrohome = Men of Easy Company

It’s official! Our artist Electrohome has changed its name to The Men of Easy Company since adding Joel, Justin, and Eric to Robert’s band lineup this past April. Their MySpace.com address is now http://myspace.com/menofeasycompany. Their first disc together will (still) hopefully be released soon after Christmas, but it is such a distant deadline that we can’t make any promises. Call it a preliminary estimate.

New Album, New Team for Electrohome

Electrohome + the Chords has a full album of unrecorded material at this point. The Robster has a few more songs in the works to add to the band’s repetoir, and between scheduling a backpacking trip to Colorado, marriage, and finances, artwork for the new disc is beginning to come together. No sort of finality will come until the college school year starts up again, however, it goes something like this:

You may notice from the song titles that the theme is ‘travel’. The album title will be Electrohome + the Chords’ Thirsty Traveler Gospel Songbook, “fulfilling” the Lessons in Space EP released last year. The band won’t start recording until they hit the dorms, though. Go check out their hot drummer in the new photographs in the meantime.

In other news… Congratulations to Robert Eisenbraun; he’s engaged!

Also worth noting: congratulations to the band’s new bass player, Mr. Eric Larson, for making the cut. “We’re not shooting too high,” said Mr. Eisenbraun on the subject, “But we hope to be practicing much deeper from now on.”

Quiet Bears and Mondo Drag are comin’ to Chicago, and Electrohome has jumped on the band wagon. They’ll open at Java Haus Thursday 22nd at 9PM. Theirs will be a short set, so don’t be late.
